  • Jason Klaczynski won his third World Championship title. No other player (as of 2018) has won more than one. Klaczynski was also the first Champion to qualify for Worlds through the Last Chance Qualifier.
  • US players comprised the entirety of Top 4 as well as six of the Top 8 spots. As of 2018, this is the only World Championship at which Top 4 featured zero non-US players.
  • This was the first World Championship to be held outside the United States.
