Notes
  • This was the first-ever sanctioned tournament in the Ultra Prism-Unified Minds format. This season, TPCI elected to perform the yearly set rotation before Worlds rather than after it, so Sun & Moon, Guardians Rising, Burning Shadows, Crimson Invasion, and Shining Legends were not legal for Worlds despite being Standard-legal during the 2018-19 season.
  • Henry Brand became the first Australian Masters division World Champion.
  • Shintaro Ito became the fourth player to reach more than one Masters Division World Championship final (he previously won Worlds in 2016), after Ross Cawthon (2005, 2011), Jason Klaczynski (2006, 2008, 2013), and Igor Costa (2012, 2014).
  • Despite being regarded by many as possibly the greatest player of all time, three-time International Champion Tord Reklev had eluded a Top 8 appearance at the World Championships in all of his previous appearances. He finally reached Top 8 (and advanced to Top 4) at this one, his eighth Worlds appearance since he began playing.
  • Defending World Champion Robin Schulz finished in 20th place. He and Ito were the only previous World Champions to compete in Day 2 at this World Championships.
